Nvidia has announced its RTX 40-series GPUs after months of rumors and speculation—and more recently, some teasing.
Today’s announcement unveiled two new GPUs: the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. The RTX 4080 will be available in 12GB and 16GB GDDR6X memory options. The RTX 4090 will come with 24GB of GDDR6X memory. Nvidia says it will be 2-4x faster than the RTX 3090 Ti. The RTX 4090 will begin shipping on October 12.

The RTX 40-series will usher in the new third-generation Lovelace architecture. Lovelace is designed to improve ray-tracing, as well as support DLSS 3.0 (Deep Learning Super Sampling). This AI-based processing can drastically enhance framerates.
The RTX 4080 (16GB) will sell for $1,199. While the RTX 4090 will retail at $1,599.
